Everything is burning around Knight Shroud. Fires, smoke, and ash obscure all his vision and make him caked in sweat as he stumbles through the burning ruins of a city. He soond finds the source as his worst fears given form. Princess Celestia, now so altered by her monstrous power she was unrecognizable as a pony and heavily resembles Daybreaker, walks through the city; cracking the ground with every step and setting things ablaze just by walking past them. She is like a living firestorm.
Knight Shroud jolts awake from the night terror and takes a moment to calm himself down by basking in the monlight. He can feel a draw, a pull tugging him towards the moon and the night. It was this draw that helped motivate him to start the Nights group and begin recruiting. He almost fancied the draw was Princess Luna herself calling out to him. He had doubts about what he was doing at first, but pressed on as many of the concerns that seemed to be whispered into his ear seemed very valid and Equestria needed the truth. They weren't radical, but they had been recently starting to prepare for the worst. Shroud begins to think maybe they should prepare more after his confrontation with Princess Celestia, which left him scuffed up but otherwise unharmed. He cleans himself off, puts on his old soldier helmet, and departs to join the others of the cause for a moonlit meeting.
