The Front (No. 74) provides examples of:

  • Artistic License – Biology: Characters call the medieval strain of pneumatic plague a virus, when real-world plague is a bacteria and is actually the same species across types of infection. This makes Cooper look like an idiot when he suggests the use of antibiotic protocols in place to deal with plague and is shot down because antibiotics wouldn't work on an a medieval version. Because somehow, a bacteria that hadn't had a chance to become antibacterial resistance is harder to deal with than one that has. They try to work around some of this by suggesting that the villain of the week did some genetic engineering, though where he learned to do that and when they had the time is not really clear.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Maddox Beck’s plan ultimately fails because to make too much of an impact because he created a batch of antidotes for himself and his girlfriend, which is eventually given to the authorities.
  • Hypocrite: Maddox Beck keeps a batch of antidote solely for the use of himself and his girlfriend while sending his followers and the rest of the world to their death.
  • Murder-Suicide: Maddox Beck kills himself and his girlfriend, escaping police custody.
  • The Plague: The plague. The plot revolves around the Front and Maddox Beck finding and releasing the Pneumonic Plague, which is thought to be the Black Death and the killer of 200 million people.
