After Rudy Garcia, the new foreman at an auto manufacturing plant, gets abducted and roughed up by some criminals, he turns to the A-Team for help. They're stealing car parts from the plant to sell on the black market, and murdered the previous foreman when he wouldn't look the other way. Hannibal takes a job at the plant, posing as a freelance thief horning in on their action, in order to lure out the thugs and their boss, mobster Jimmy Durkee.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Captured on Purpose: Hannibal lets the bad guys take him captive in order to try and find their base of operations. The team originally plans to follow him in the van, but they lose him when a kid runs in front, stopping them and Hannibal spends most of the trip unconscious. Fortunately they had a backup plan - a tape recorder in a watch to record sounds on the way to the warehouse and track them that way.
- Rainbow Pimp Gear: Face buys a cheap used car to use as a sign for their fake store. Since it's a tricked out custom job, he decides he needs to look the part to avoid arrest for grand theft and shows up wearing a purple fur coat, white silk scarf, and cowboy hat. B.A. is not impressed.
- Reformed Criminal: Rudy is said to be an ex-con. It's never said exactly what he did, but all he wants now is to clean himself up and make an honest living. The last thing he wants is to be involved with any more criminal activities. The villains mock him for being "too good for them" and threaten his family to keep him quiet.
- Secret Test of Character: In order to determine if Rudy is really an honest man or just a crook, Hannibal poses as a police officer and writes Rudy a ticket, but offers to let him off the hook for a small bribe. Rudy says he'd rather have the ticket and keep his nose clean, which impresses Hannibal enough to work for him.
- Shout-Out: Murdock playing the criminal boss Crazy Willie Beano, does an impression of Don Corleone.
