Plot

The Connors hear that Riley's body has been found. John investigates, trying to prove Cameron innocent. Savannah discovers John Henry and plays a game with him. Meanwhile, in flashback, Jesse's submarine goes on a secret mission to retrieve a mysterious "package".

Tropes

  • A Day in the Limelight: Jesse is front and centre in these two episodes.
  • All for Nothing: Jesse asks John if, had she actually manipulated Cameron into killing Riley or at least convinced him she had, he would have killed Cameron. The answer is no.
  • Bar Brawl: Jesse starts a fight with some sailors to give Derek an explanation for the injuries that she got fighting Riley.
  • Black-and-Gray Morality: Derek's conversation with Jesse.
    An innocent kid is dead. No good can come of that.
  • Bloodless Carnage: Considering Riley was shot in the chest the hotel carpet is spotless.

  • Spotting the Thread: When John examines Riley's body in the morgue, he sees bruises and abrasions on her hands from her fight with Jesse, and realises that if it had been Cameron who killed her she wouldn't have had the chance to fight back.
