Go To

The Turtles get their first look at high school when April's school project draws attention from Kraang.

This episode provides examples of:

  • All Your Powers Combined: Justin, the super mutant, has abilities taken from various animals, including an octopus, an electric eel, and a cobra.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: In addition to the all of the above, the super mutant inherited a cat's meowing.
  • Create Your Own Villain: Justin was created by Karai when she caused all of the Kraang's harvested DNA to fuse into one monster.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Justin does this to the turtles and the Kraang before Leo's finally able to take it down.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Justin.
  • Enemy Mine: Karai briefly with the turtles against the Kraang, but then subverted when she abandons the turtles to fight the Eldritch Abomination that shows up.
    • Then it's the Kraang and the Turtles against said Abomination, as Raph is quick to throw in Leo's face.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Mikey calling the mishmash mutant monster "Justin", if only because his other idea wasn't good enough.
  • Foreshadowing: Whether this was unintentional or not, there is a picture of a snake on the mutation board that Karai used to create Justin. Ironic considering this is the type of mutant that Karai turns into a season later.
  • Girly Scream: Mikey, freaking out about the cat DNA being absorbed, just before Justin is born.
  • High School: For about two scenes.
  • The Hyena: Bradford just can't stop laughing at Xever's mishaps with Stockman's electronic legs.

  • Kick the Dog: Karai abandons the turtles to fight an Eldritch Abomination she accidentally created, which causes Leo to give up on her.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Raph tells Leo that the only reason Karai didn't attack them is because she's studying their moves.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Karai.
  • Lack of Empathy: As stated above, Karai abandons the Turtles even though the Eldritch Abomination attacking them was her own fault, and when Leo points out that he trusted her, she mocks him.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: The official promo for this episode shows the Turtles as they face "face their toughest decision ever"; pizza omelette or omelette pizza. There's exactly one shot of the Turtles arriving at April's school.
    • The promos and the official description also don't indicate at Karai's role in the episode and the Turtles attack on the Kraang's WWGP lab.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain!: Karai accidentally creates Justin. Leo even points out it's her fault, but she doesn't care.
  • Odd Name Out: The super mutant was given the name "Justin" because Mikey couldn't think of a better name to give it.

  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Mrs. Campbell
  • Revenge Before Reason: Shredder. However, he changes his tune after Karai gives him a working piece of Kraang technology.
  • Robot Girl: Mrs. Campbell.
  • Rousseau Was Right: Cruelly subverted. Karai abandoning the turtles to a monster she created causes Leo to give up on her.
  • Shock and Awe: Justin's eyes are electrified!
  • Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!: Leo's beliefs that there was good in Karai are proven to be completely false.
    Leo: I trusted you!
  • Trailers Always Spoil: A preview clip shows April being chased around the school by Mrs. Campbell, who turns out to be a Kraang robot.
