Aqualad tries to convince Raven to date him again, which makes Beast Boy miserable.
- Bandage Mummy: The restaurant vendor Berto first learned of the power of Shrimp when he tried feeding them to a stray cat, who was then (non-fatally) hit by a car. Berto then pulls the cat out of his coat, and everything but the space around its eyes is wrapped up in bandages.
- Borrowed Catchphrase: near the end, before he, Starfire and Cyborg battle Aqualad, Beast Boy shouts Robin's catchphrase of "Titans, Go!"
- Call-Back: The episode starts with Cyborg eating Shrimps and Prime Rib
- Dark Horse Victory: After learning that Aqualad was using a captive Berto to make the Shrimp and Prime Rib instead of cooking it himself, Raven goes on a date with neither Aqualad or Beast Boy, but with Berto.
- Love Triangle: Beast Boy is outraged that Aqualad is successfully wooing Raven with shrimp and prime rib, and tries to win her affections back.
- Running Gag: Characters saying "Sick Burn!" when someone gets criticized, even Aqualad gets in on it eventually.
- Sanity Slippage: While the other Titans are busy dealing with Raven and Beast Boy's relationship drama, Robin decides to seclude himself and quickly goes mad, making a pit in the middle of the Tower's main room and then writing on the walls.
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?: Aqualad is horrified by Berto selling shrimp and prime rib to Cyborg, because the shrimp were the members of his basketball team.
