The male and female Titans compete against each other to prove once and for all which gender is better— boys or girls?

This episode contains examples of:

  • Bullet Time: As Starfire is leaving Beast Boy in the dust during their race, she winks at him in slow motion before speeding up and lapping him several times.
  • By the Lights of Their Eyes: Robin, Beast Boy, and Cyborg decide to hide from the girls in a safe in the Jumpy City Bank. The door closes, leaving them in complete darkness with only their eyes showing.
  • The Cat Came Back: The boys run from the girls to avoid being touched by their cooties, but no matter where they hide, the girls find them.
  • Evil Laugh: Robin does this after giving cooties to Raven and Starfire. His laugh was loud enough to wake up Cyborg and he shouts at him that he's trying to sleep.
  • Eye Poke: While the girls give Beast Boy and Cyborg the cooties by gently poking them, they violently stab Robin in both of his eyes with their fingers. Justified considering he was the one who gave them cooties in the first place.
  • Gasshole: One of the ways the boys show off their masculinity is by burping loudly.
  • Girls Have Cooties: Robin warns Beast Boy and Cyborg about cooties, but when they don’t believe him and start siding with the girls he gets the cooties out of biocontainment and infect Raven and Starfire. Soon the whole team has this fictional ailment.
  • Girls vs. Boys Plot: Starfire and Raven beat Robin, Cyborg and Beast Boy in a contest 3-0, resulting in Cyborg and Beast Boy assuming girls are better than boys in general, rather than two particular girls just happening to be more competent and having better powers than three particular boys.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: When the boys ask Raven and Starfire what girls do, they make their mundane activities sound incredibly exciting.
Raven: Well, you know, I read from my spellbook...while fighting an evil demon!
Starfire: I make Glorbnorb pudding...with the saliva of a giant Klatar!
  • Our Zombies Are Different: The cooties virus makes anybody who has it able to infect somebody else just by touching them.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The "sugar, spice, and anything nice" quote being mentioned by Robin is a reference to The Powerpuff Girls.
    • The music that plays while Robin infiltrates the laboratory is similar to that of the Mission: Impossible franchise.
  • Spoof Aesop: The original moral seems to be about gender equality and fairness. However, it goes a different direction where Cyborg and Beast Boy think the moral is “girls are superior to boys”.
  • Sudden Video-Game Moment: The girls chasing the boys through Jump City is briefly portrayed as a Pac-Man-like 8-bit video game.
  • You Go, Girl!: Every single thing that happens in the episode ends with the girls coming out triumphant, and the boys end up winning ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
