Recap / Teen Titans Go S 2 E 12 A Farce

Go To

Brother Blood puts the Teen Titans on trial for the careless destruction of Jump City, with The Brain as the Judge and Monsieur Mallah as the bailiff.

This episode contains the following Tropes:

  • All Love Is Unrequited: During the trial, Robin tries to get Starfire to admit that she loves him, but to no avail.
  • Courtroom Episode: The plot of the episode is that the Titans are taken to court for causing too much collateral damage during their adventures.
  • Destructive Saviour: All of the Titans cause massive damage in Jump City.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Possibly the reason Brother Blood puts the Titans on trial.
  • Failed a Spot Check: The Titans destroy the city looking for Brother Blood when he was sitting just a few feet away from them.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: All of the Titans' attempts to prove their innocence, including giving the jury a good show, end in failure.
  • Joker Jury: Averted. Instead of a jury of villains, the trial has an actual jury made up of regular citizens.
  • Lured into a Trap: The crime alert at the beginning is really a trap set up to catch the Titans, something to which Brother Blood admits to.
  • Penultimate Outburst: The Titans' tendency to go off-topic when giving their testimonies —use of superpowers, mutual taunting, and overall making a circus of the procedure— causes the Brain, who is already biased against them, to threaten to kick them out of the courtroom a couple of times.
  • Pragmatic Hero: After Brother Blood points out that the Titans wrecked Jump City, Raven justifies that sometimes they have to do what's wrong to do what's right.
  • Scales of Justice: Lady Justice briefly appears with her scales right before the trial.
  • Self-Deprecation: The Titans agree with locking themselves up for a short time.
  • Sore Loser: Robin gives a long speech about why he's this before the trial begins.
  • That Was Objectionable: Robin attempts this during the trial, but The Brain says he can't.
  • Villain Has a Point: Brother Blood isn't wrong on the Titans causing destruction in Jump City.
