Jonah and Sandra travel to Chicago in the hope of being successful in the labor union's demands to corporate. Dina and Cheyenne take Amy out to get a Christmas tree for the store to distract her, and ends up chopping one down herself. Mateo, Glenn and Garrett try to sell at least one item from the clearance shelf that's basically unsellable.

- Diabolus ex Machina: Near the end of the episode, it looks like the union was successful and the Cloud 9 staff will receive the benefits they deserve. Then in the last couple of minutes, Maya calls Amy to reveal that Cloud 9 was suddenly bought out by a never-before-mentioned larger corporation that nullified the whole decision.
- Distressed Woodchopping: Amy takes out her frustration about the labor negotiations by chopping down the Christmas tree.
- Downer Ending: Corporate appears to agree to all of the union's demands, but it turns out that it is because Cloud 9 got bought out by a new parent company that won't honor any union deals made anyway.
- Power Outage Plot: The tree that Amy, Dina, and Cheyenne chopped down accidentally falls on the transformer, sending Cloud 9 into a blackout halfway through the episode.
- Timber!: Amy yells "Timber!" while chopping down the tree. Despite Dina insisting that that's what you say when the tree falls, Amy keeps yelling it with every hit, and Cheyenne joins in.
