Tropes

  • Bury Your Gays: Averted. Cesar and Jessy both survive the episode and then quit hunting to move to New Mexico and raise horses.
  • Cassandra Truth: One witness is disbelieved because she and her friend were on a "cannabis tasting tour."
  • Regularly Scheduled Evil: The Bisaan only come out to breed every 27 years.
  • Small Town Boredom: The sheriff characterizes the town as one that people just decide to leave after a few years. Jessy wanted to leave as soon as he realized he was gay.
    • In fact, the disappearances are all attributed to people getting bored and leaving.
