The Winchesters and Castiel - who's already got his hands full trying to regain Claire's trust after Dean killed Randy - search for a way to remove the Mark of Cain. To this end Castiel has Metatron transferred from Heaven's prison to the Men of Letters bunker.


Meanwhile in Hell, Rowena uses magic and manipulation to increase her influence over Crowley.

  • Bullying a Dragon: After Dean put down half a dozen gun-wielding gangsters in addition to killing Randy, Claire should really know better than to think her two new friends can end him with a baseball bat and an ax.
  • Gaslighting: Rowena gives Crowley nightmares with her hex bags and plays the demons in order to make Crowley think she's the only one he can trust.
  • Hannibal Lecture: While he's tied up and being beaten half to death, Metatron turns it around on Dean, alleging that Dean himself is responsible for everything he blames Metatron for.
  • Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: When Metatron proves less than cooperative, Dean tries to beat the information on the Mark out of him. Throughout, Metatron seems to be the one in the driver's seat.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Rowena gets Crowley's lieutenant Guthrie to steal the First Blade from Crowley's grave. When he brings it to her she stabs him with an angel blade so that she can frame him.
