Rey and BB-8 take off on a speeder to flee scavenger thugs who want to steal BB-8.
- Androcles' Lion: Downplayed when the nightwatcher worm eats Teedo's bike. It's just acting on instinct but could have gone for Rey, so it probably remembers that she fed it.
- Bring It: Rey gets off the bike to challenge Teedo, buying time for the nightwatcher worm to eat his bike.
- Chase Scene: The episode is centered around Rey fleeing Teedo and his gang on her speeder.
- Deadly Dodging: Rey takes out two of the thugs by braking at the right moment, causing them to crash into each other.
- Never Bring A Knife To A Gunfight: Or a staff. Without a blaster, Rey has to improvise against the thugs who are wielding rifles.
