Tired of the fact Casey won't tell Dana about Gordon sleeping with Sally, Dan tells Natalie about it, and all hell breaks loose.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Afraid of Needles: This is ultimately why Jeremy doesn't want to participate in the blood drive.
  • Artistic License – History: Dan says that Napoleon died in exile on Elba; Casey smugly says that actually he was murdered on Elba. While it's not entirely clear whether Napoleon was murdered or died of natural causes, note  he did whichever of them not on Elba — the location of his first, pre-Waterloo, exile — but on St. Helena.
  • Book Ends: The show begins and ends with Casey and Dan having to start out the broadcast without their pants; the first time because wardrobe hasn't finished pressing them, the second because Natalie is getting even with Dan for not telling her earlier about Gordon and Sally.
    • Running Gag: Casey and Dan mildly obsessing over other people's reactions to them without pants, including the people in the apartment building across the street.
Casey: I'll tell you, what really makes this outfit work are the socks.
    Kim: I was gonna say.
  • Covert Pervert:
Dana: (as she and Casey are walking through the newsroom) Please lower your voice. I do not want your tawdry tales of office lust infecting my newsroom.
    Kim: Casey?
    Casey: Yeah.
Elliot: We'd like to hear them.
  • The Exit Is That Way: Dana storms off to buy a camera after yelling at Casey... and then has to storm back past him again because she went the wrong way.
  • Foreshadowing: The Soshi/Suntac camera Dana talks about buying comes into play in the following episode.
  • Get Out!:
Dana: (walking into Dan and Casey's office) You... are a sleazy, slimy, adolescent, oversexed, overpaid blowhole!
Dan: (Beat) Which one of us are you talking to?
    Dana: Get out!
Dan: (turns to Casey) The high road, my friend-
    Casey: Get out.
  • Indy Ploy / Title Drop:
Casey: Technically, I have a plan.
    Dan: What's the plan?
    Casey: It's Napoleon's plan...He had a two-part plan.
    Dan: What was it?
Casey: First we show up, then we see what happens.
Dan: That was his plan?...Against the Russian Army?
    Casey: Yeah.
  • Running Gag: Jeremy trying to explain why he can't participate in the blood drive.
  • Shout-Out: Dana tells Sally, "This isn't a Noël Coward play!"
  • Too Much Information: After Casey tells Allison (the make-up artist) his calves have been called "shapely":
Dan: Who's been calling your calves shapely?
    Casey: My mom.
Dan: Okay. Don't talk to me for the rest of the show.
  • Tranquil Fury: Dana when she finds out about Gordon and Sally...at first.
Waiter: Can I tell you about some of our dessert specials?
    Dana: No, thank you.
    Gordon: No thanks.
Waiter: The chef has made a pecan pie.
    Dana: Thanks anyway.
Waiter: One plate with two forks-
Dana: (evenly) Seriously, I'll kill you.
