”Good job,Cartman! You killed Kyle!”
Original air date: 1/20/1999 (produced in 1998)

Stan and Kyle discover a man who has been trapped in the ice since 1996, but break up when they decide on different names for him. Meanwhile, the "ice man" tries to reconnect with his wife and kids.

"Prehistoric Ice Man" contains examples of:

  • Ass Shove: Steve Irwin is always sticking his thumb up some poor animal's butthole. And Cartman ends up being shoved up a cow's butt at the end of that episode.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: After Kyle falls into the hole and the boys think he died, a similar enough volley of phrases ensues as usual, with Kenny borrowing Kyle's part in it.
Stan: Good job, Cartman, you killed Kyle.
    Kenny: You bastard!
  • Call-Back: Stan & Kyle's throwing the phrase "You're a dick" at each other is similar to "Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus".
    • Dr. Mephesto's four-assed animals are seen again
  • Character Catchphrase: "I'm going to jam my thumb in it's butthole, that'll really piss it off!" is Steve Irwin's.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: From inside the hole, Kyle says, "Cartman, you fucking hunk of fat ratfucking hunk of pigfucking ass fat!"
  • Debating Names: Stan and Kyle find a man frozen in ice. Kyle names him "Steve," but Stan wants to name him "Gorak," causing them to stop being friends for some time. The man only froze for a little over two years and already has a name, Larry, but nobody seems to care.
  • Digital Destruction: In the remastered version, when Kyle is shouting his Cluster F-Bomb at Cartman, Cartman doesn't look angry until he starts retorting.
  • Feud Episode: This happens between Stan and Kyle when they discover Larry.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Lampshaded: Larry was only frozen for three years... but the town treats it as if this were a big thing.
  • Green Gators: The crocodiles in Steve Irwin: The Crocodile Hunter are green.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: While Larry is normally pretty nice, the smallest and silliest things can send into a violent caveman-esque rage where he'll break things and roar like an animal. These include an announcement that the Atlanta Falcons are going to the Super Bowl and a Marilyn Manson music video.
  • No, You: Stan and Kyle end up saying "You're a dick!" to one another before deciding to fight each other.
  • Secret Other Family: Larry finds his ex-wife remarried and with two kids (aged thirteen and eight, respectively). Larry was only frozen for three years. It's only after leaving their house that it dawns on him she was cheating on him throughout their entire relationship.
    • We only see Larry puzzled that the kids are that age. If Leslie had borne Buck them during her marriage to Larry, he would have noticed her pregnancies. Perhaps they are Buck's sons from a previous relationship.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Take That!: Since Larry is three years behind everyone else, Kyle suggests he move to Des Moines, Iowa.
    • Seeing both the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl and a Marilyn Manson video sends Larry flying into a rage.
  • Tempting Fate: Dr. Mephisto hopes that the media doesn't get wind of his discovery. The press immediately burst into his lab.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: After Kyle falls into the hole, Stan says "Good job Cartman, you killed Kyle!" and Kenny gets to say "You bastard!".
    • Later, Stan says "Oh my God! They revived Gorak!", and Kyle adds "You bastards!"
    • Kenny dies by forgetting to get off of a walking escalator but due to Stan and Kyle fighting, the usual catchphrase is left hanging.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Stan and Kyle end their friendship temporarily over what they want to name Larry. Stan wants to call him Gorak and Kyle wants to name him Steve.
