This episode provides examples of:
- Analogy Backfire: This line from Eggman when he finds that Tails' clones have trashed his lair:Eggman: Oh, come on! Do I come to your place and destroy stuff? Oh, wait, bad example, I do that every chance I get.
- Big Brother Instinct: Sonic steps right up to the plate to defend Tails after Mayor Fink snatches the Trophy of Valor from him and the villagers boo the fox following the failed Dome-pocalypse:Sonic: Woah, woah, woah! Ease up, everybody! We can't expect Tails to think of every possible outcome. He's only one guy.
- Cloning Splits Attributes: This episode sees Tails, upset over a failure in battle, decide to clone himself and form a brain trust to create superior inventions. Unfortunately, a flaw in the machine used causes the duplicates to each receive only a fifth of Tails' original intellect, leading such bright ideas as seeing what a wall tastes like, attempting to fly while spinning his legs, and enjoying a Meh Burger. Tails' friends naturally try to help, while keeping his clones from hurting themselves, but accidentally end up with fifteen doppelgangers. Fortunately, Eggman decides to intervene so he doesn't start waking up to a lair full of nitwit foxes destroying everything.
- Earned Stripes: As the Tails clones go ballistic across the village center, Knuckles watches on and decides it's time to get them back in order, so he gives them a whistle and asks if they would like to see a cheese puff that looks like the mayor. The clones immediately respond to him, and they and Knuckles are then shown marching across the village while Sonic, Amy and Sticks look on in confusion. We don't know where this parade led, but let's just say what Knuckles really meant was getting back to the workshop.
- Enemy Mine: Eggman (reluctantly) helps resolve the situation after getting annoyed at the clones eating all of his pudding and making a mess of his lair.
- Epic Fail: Sonic messes up while using the machine and creates even more clones of Tails when, as Eggman reveals later, there was an obviously labeled button that would've fixed things. Also counts as Nice Job Breaking It, Hero.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Tails duplicates himself in this episode.
- Failed a Spot Check: Sonic failed to notice the reverse switch on the cloning machine...which takes Eggman all of three seconds to notice.Sonic: ...Hey, you're the tech wiz, not us.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Sonic put Tails' first five clones back into the machine without reversing the switch from clone to de-clone. Lampshaded by Eggman at the end when he tells Tails "Your friends just made things worse!"
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Eggman is able to work Tails' cloning machine pretty easily and merge the clones back into one.
- Major Coward: When the clones and Knuckles march across the village, the latter marches behind them, despite the fact he called for their attention.
- Running Gag: Every time a Tails clone says "why" when Sticks is around, she proceeds to tackle them in annoyance.
- Teeny Weenie: Discussed; Eggman is surprised by one of the Tails clones appearing in his bathroom while he's in the shower, and since the clone wants to be friends with him, decides to use him for evil purposes, starting with fetching him a towel. The clone fails this task twice (and brings him pudding the second time), but does eventually bring him a towel. That is, a hand towel.Tails clone: Is this a towel?
Eggman: What am I supposed to cover with that? Are you making fun of me?! - The Voiceless: Orbot and Cubot appear in this episode, but do not speak.
