Sonic and the gang take on the Lightning Bolt Society in a high-stakes bowling match.
Tropes for this episode include:
- Bested at Bowling: The Pin Dashers lose to the Lightning Bowlers, which causes Sonic to suffer a Sanity Slippage as he demands a rematch that he ultimately never gets.
- Bowling for Ratings: After 80 consecutive defeats from Team Sonic, the Lightning Bolt Society takes up bowling, and competes against Team Sonic, who become the "Pin Dashers". After beating the latter in a game, the Lightning Bolts, under the name of the "Lightning Bowler Society", become instant celebrities.
- A Day in the Limelight: For the Lightning Bolt Society.
- 15 Minutes of Fame: Defeating Sonic's team in bowling makes the "Lightning Bowler Society" instant celebrities, but causes infighting among the team (mostly thanks to Staci) and nearly breaks them apart. When they reunite in the name of villainous friendship, they are quickly defeated by Team Sonic and their fame is gone as quickly as it arrived.
- Money, Dear Boy: The aristocratic One-Percentersnote deal with the agony of being defeated by the Lightning Bowlers... by going to the money bin for a swim with their riches.
- Pun: According to Sonic, the Pin Dashers' name is a play on the Spin Dash, one of the Blue Blur's signature moves.
- Rage Breaking Point:
- Sticks fails to get a strike during the Pin Dashers' match with the Lightning Bowlers, causing her to snap and tackle the pins she missed.
- Losing to the Lightning Bowlers causes Sonic to suffer Sanity Slippage for a good chunk of this episode.
- Sore Loser: Sonic does not take losing to the Lightning Bowlers very well.
- Sanity Slippage: Sonic spends nearly the entire episode becoming increasingly obsessed with beating the Lightning Bowlers in a rematch to the point where even Sticks thinks he's gone crazy.
- Shout-Out:
- The music that plays when the Pin Dashers are playing against the Lightning Bowlers is loosely based on the song "Push It to the Limit".
- During said match, Willy Walrus is seen using Fred Flintstone's twinkle toes move.
- Wimp Fight: The Lightning Bowlers' arguing eventually devolves into this.
- Yoko Oh No: Staci convinces the Chameleon that the Lightning Bowlers are holding him back from his true potential.
