Sly and his crew (along with some additional members) are ready to unlock the Cooper Vault.
Tropes:
- Arc Villain: Dr. M.
- Code Name: Numerous members of the Cooper Gang have these. For example, Panda King is known as "Agent Monarch" and Bentley calls Sly "The Ball".
- Establishing Character Moment: When we first see Dr. M, he's casually chatting with one of his guards, asking about the latter's family...before just as casually mentioning that he poisoned said guard's drink for not changing the security code from 1-2-3.Richards: I'll improve, I swear!
Dr. M: No, now you'll die. Any second now...
Richards: gurgling noises
Dr. M: [over a radio] Yes. Water leaking into the lab? I'm on my way down. Oh, and get a janitor to the elevator, would you? Richards got sloppy. - Forced Tutorial: For Sly 3.
- How We Got Here: The game starts with Sly doing a mission on Kaine Island, Panda King and Dimitri as part of his crew, to stop Dr. M before he ends up in the claws of a horrible monster. The rest of the game is a series of flashbacks as Sly narrates how this all came together.
- Island Base: Kaine Island was originally the vault that held the Cooper Clan's extensive treasure trove, but has now become the dwelling of Dr. M, who had since created a near-impregnable fortress trying to break into it.
- Kick the Dog: Dr. M's introduction is him chatting up one of his Mooks about his family... to pass the time while waiting for the mooks' poison to take hold.
