Recap / Scrubs S 1 E 24 My Last Day

Go To

The interns try and make it through their last day as interns before they become residents; Carla and Turk discuss their relationship.

  • Cynical Mentor: Jordan acts as a girl-boss mentor to Eliot.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Having finally come together as a team, all three interns discuss Boeber's case and realize that there's a solution, but it's dicey.
  • Friendship Moment: See the quote for Jerk with a Heart of Gold below.
  • Internal Reveal: Jordan comes in and spills all the secrets that have piled up over the season, spoiling the celebration over Boeber's surgery: Eliot's still crazy about JD, Cox is in love with Carla, Turk knew about that, Kelso has been lying to Cox about the possible promotion, and she and JD had sex.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Cox confirms it here, 100%. He doesn't hesitate to help the team get help for Boeber despite the fact that he has no insurance and is old enough that operating on him will be a risk.
Cox: Don't ever be afraid to come to me with stuff like that. The simple fact that you actually seem to give a crap is the reason I took an interest in you to begin with. It's why I trust you as a doctor. Hell, it's ... it's why I trust you as a person.
    • Jordan also steps up for her part of the plan.
  • Jerkass Realization: All three interns realize they've become the doctors they promised they would never be: cynical jerks who don't care.
  • Offhand Backhand: Dr. Wen delivers one to the Todd when the latter starts blowing on the window of the operating room, slapping the window and getting the Todd to go away without even looking.
  • Oh, Crap!: Jordan's epic takedown at the end of the episode does this to everyone but Carla, who was the only one at the table not keeping some kind of secret from anyone.
  • Tempting Fate: Cox tells Jordan she's pretty predictable in her habit of coming over to have sex with him (such that he's wearing cologne and has candles lit before she shows up). When she points out that people like reliability, his response? "Yeah, in a sedan." Then he tells her to "stir things up". See Internal Reveal for her reaction.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Eliot calls Jordan out for her cynical attitude when she still clearly cares about Cox.
