Go To

Cat Burglar

  • An Aesop: It's not what you can do that defines if you're bad or good. It's what you do with it that counts.

Sagwa's Good Deed

  • An Aesop: As demonstrated throughout the episode with Fam, give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Sagwa risks being late for dinner in order to give food to Fam, whose family normally doesn't have enough to eat. For her kind and selfless act of essentially feeding the poor, Sagwa's titular good deed is rewarded. ...with Mama Miao scolding her for being late and saying Sagwa shall have plain rice for dinner tonight. (To be fair, her mother didn't know at the time, and she does make a point that she would be having fish if only she was on time for dinner.)
  • Poor Communication Kills: One of the morals of the story. After Sagwa profusely apologizes to her mother for being late for dinner again, Mama Miao explains that Fam's mother came by and explained everything. Once that's cleared up, Mama Miao tells her daughter that if only she had told her first about what she was doing, she would've gladly helped her daughter.
