Welcome to the Grand Mario Hotel! Where Marios from different universes all gather to rest, share stories and... beat up SMG4's Mario?
SMG4's Mario, known as Stupid Mario, is finally believed to be mature enough to visit the Grand Mario Hotel, where Marios from across the universe go to rest and relax. Only it turns out he's not quite as mature as believed, and quickly starts causing issues.
- 1-Up: Stupid Mario resurrects Don Mario with a 1-Up Mushroom after the latter had flatlined.
- Alliance of Alternates: When Stupid Mario ends up ruining the hotel, every Mario except Smart and Don Mario immediately begin to hunt him down.
- Beardness Protection Program: When Animatronic Mario sees Stupid Mario from behind, the latter rips off his moustache to disguise himself. Animatronic Mario doesn't recognise him, but proclaims him as hideous and quickly leaves.
- Berserk Button: Quite a few Marios have minor things that irritate them.
- Fundamentals Mario literally throws Stupid Mario out of their shared hotel room when the latter cheats at Go Fish by playing a Pokémon card.
- Typing Mario becomes enraged at anyone who makes writing mistakes. Smart Mario exploits this near the end by telling Typing Mario that Bootleg Mario thinks "your" and "you're" are the same, resulting in Typing Mario performing a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown on Bootleg Mario.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Bootleg Mario is a major Jerkass to Stupid Mario, claiming he shouldn't be allowed in and insulting him at every point. However, he's completely correct in his accusations, and every problem the hotel has is caused by Stupid Mario.
- Non-Standard Character Design: Unlike every other Mario, Don Mario doesn't closely resemble any Mario from across the franchise, instead using the model of Dumbledore with Mario's hat and moustache stuck on.
- Only Six Faces: Every Mario looks noticeably similar, albeit sometimes with different body proportions. Justified, as they are all the same person from different universes.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome:
- Stupid Mario rips off his moustache to disguise himself. While it works, it also puts him in a great deal of pain.
- Smart Mario begins panicking when he finds Don Mario dead, only for Stupid Mario to easily resurrect him, because any universe where 1-Ups exist would also be one where Death Is Cheap.
