Tropes for this episode include:

  • Accidental Public Confession: After all of the chaos caused by Lilith's Mirror is resolved by Ruby, Kokoa angrily chews Ruby out for ruining everything and ends up revealing that she was the one who stole Lilith's Mirror from the academy and caused the entire mess in the first place. Ruby promptly drags her off to be punished.
Kokoa: Me and my big mouth!
  • Artifact of Doom: Lilith's Mirror is a cursed artifact that compels monsters to drop their human forms and act on instinct, causing devastation in the academy and could spell disaster if it ever got out into the human world. Because of this, it was originally locked away by the Director before Kokoa stole it.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: When Kyoko expresses that she wants to uncover what Yokai Academy is, Lilith interprets this as using her power on everyone in the school, causing devastations with its use.
  • Comedic Spanking: Kurumu spanks Yukari for mouthing off to her towards the end of the episode.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Kurumu, Mizore, Yukari and Rubi blindfold themselves to keep Lilith from turning them feral again. Unfortunately, this also renders them blind, so they have no way of effectively attacking her. They even lampshade that they didn't consider how they would make it to the "defeat Lilith" stage of the plan.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: The first theory Kyoko draws when she sees the Newspaper Club using their powers is that Yokai Academy is training students to work in the sex trade (since Kurumu was in a French Maid Outfit and they are all throwing themselves at Tsukune). Then when she sees Lilith coming out of her mirror, she thinks she's being punked and that she is on a Reality Show, thinking that Lilith revealing the Fan Club Coalition's monster forms are an elaborate special effect.
  • Fantastic Racism: A shell-shocked Kyoko yells at Moka to leave her be, knowing that she's a monster and has every intention of taking Tsukune home with her.
  • History Repeats: The way Kyoko runs into Kokoa is very similar to when Tsukune met Kokoa in the second chapter of the second season.
  • Internal Reveal: Here, Kyoko learns the truth behind Yokai Academy and Tsukune's friends.
  • Literal Split Personality: After Inner!Moka fends off Kagome and her monster horde, Lilith uses the mirror on her and seperates Inner!Moka and Outer!Moka, leaving both of them significantly weaker than when they were whole.
  • Satchel Switcheroo: Kyoko's box and rice-balls and Kokoa's box holding Lilith's Mirror are wrapped in identical looking bindles, so when Kokoa rush into Kyoko, they accidentally swap boxes.
  • Sentient Phlebotinum: Lilith is a fairy-esq manifestation of the mirror itself, ensuring that the mirror is used and its magic spreads as far as possible.
  • Shout-Out: Kurumu mockingly calls Lilith "Tinker Bell."
  • Sudden Downer Ending: Right when all seems to have wrapped up nicely - Lilith's Mirror has been detained, Koko will be punished for it and Kyoko accepts Tsukune's decision to stay - it is revealed that they didn't stop it in time and the barrier hiding Yokai Academy is beginning to collapse. To Be Continued...
  • Take a Third Option: With Tsukune not around to remove her rosary, Outer!Moka instead uses the power of the mirror to free Inner!Moka so that she could defend herself and Kyoko against the monster horde.
  • Youkai: Lilith refers to herself as a "shinto spirit, the soul of an antique item." This qualifies her as a Tsukumogami.
