Tropes for this episode include:
- Adults Are Useless: When the Security Committee arrest Tsukune, Moka, Kurumu and Mizore in the middle of class, Nekonome does nothing about it.
- Call-Back: The Fan Club Coalition from Episode 4 make a reappearance, being Mizore's informants into the goings-on of the Security Committee.
- Crucified Hero Shot: Tsukune is strapped to a crucifix-esq harness with a sign saying "I AM A HUMAN" written in red attached to it. Considering he was sacrificing himself for his friend's safety, he is being persecuted by others in-spite of his good nature and the Big Bad that tied him there is a handsome tyrant with fire powers, they were definitely going for a Messianic Archetype-thing with Tsukune.
- Everybody Has Standards: While most of the students hate humans, some of them think that executing Tsukune publicly is a tad bit harsh. The only reason why no one objects is because the Committee threaten any form of defiance against them.
- Fantastic Racism: Subverted. While the common consensus that monsters have of humans is that they are bastards, there are students who voice their concerns that a death sentence might be a tad bit harsh. Not only that, but some of the students had attended human schools and had actually made friends there, so the issue is definitely more complicated than popular opinion would imply.
- Honor Before Reason: Nekonome points out that executing humans on school grounds is in direct contradiction with the Academy's goal of fostering peace with them. Kotsubo seems to think differently, claiming that humanity and monster-kind have always been enemies and that to him this would be the most rational response.
- Humans Are Smelly: Most of the students that the Committee interrogates over Tsukune comment on his weird scent.
- Internal Reveal: Kurumu, Mizore, Yukari and Ginei find out that Tsukune is human and that Moka has been keeping this a secret the whole time.
- Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: Moka's interrogator threatened her with water to try and get her to admit that Tsukune is a human.
- La Résistance: The Newspaper Club has been spending all their time gathering evidence and investigating the Security Committee to uncover their corruption and hold them accountable. Naturally, this makes the Newspaper Club their new number one priority.
- A Taste of Their Own Medicine: The Fan Club Coalition were established as being stalkers to Tsukune's Unwanted Harem. It takes the threat of Mizore stalking them incessantly for them to cave to her demands for information.
- Wham Line:Kuyo: As of right now, you are under suspicion of being a human.
