After the encounter with Anti-Pops and death of Earl in the last episode, the crew head to Planet Nielsen to meet someone known as The Seer, but they find the place has been overrun by Streaming (previously Internet from "Format Wars II"). With the aid of the remaining Format Guardians, the crew must sneak into the planet to meet her.
Tropes
- Affectionate Parody: To The Matrix Reloaded with the Seer acting as a combination of The Oracle and The Architect.
- Author Avatar: The Seer.
- Brother–Sister Team: HDDVD and Blu-Ray.
- The Bus Came Back: Reel-to-Reel and DVD (now HDDVD).
- Call-Back: Lolliland is revealed to be Pops' favorite planet.
- End-of-Series Awareness: The Seer mentions that while she like watching the antics of the Park Crew, eventually it has to come to an end, alluding to the show's final season. The Seer was aware of the much-maligned Seasonal Rot that plagued many a great show, including Regular Show.
- Heroic Sacrifice: The microwave doctor and Reel-to-Reel. Even Black and White in a sense as his wild fire hits Streaming on the antenna before he's taken out, causing Streaming to buffer and giving the crew enough time to escape.
- Large Ham: Sourcing.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Everything the Seer says about the Park crew. The episode even shows a wall of television screens showing the intro of the show and past episodes.
- Meaningful Name: Planet Nielsen is named after Nielsen ratings.
- Mid-Season Upgrade: Since his first appearance, DVD is now upgraded to HDDVD.
- Mythology Gag: The planet they are heading to is named Lolliland. Pop originated from the short The Naive Man From Lolliland.
- Self-Deprecation: The Seer comments on how the Mordecai-Margaret relationship plotline began to "level off a little" and how she preferred Mordecai with C.J.; how the Halloween episodes were of a spike of interest but "became weak as well"; and wished that Eileen had a bigger role.
- Seasonal Rot: Lampshaded by The Seer including the aforementioned romance plotline and the recent Terror Tales of The Park being weaker. It's the main reason she wants to see the series end on its own terms.
- Sequel Episode: To Format Wars II.
- Shout-Out:
- Skips' "I have a bad feeling." liner.
- Black-and-White's Last Words: "In space, no one can hear you stream."
- Sibling Rivalry: HDDVD and Blu-Ray arguing which of them is the superior format.
- Taking the Bullet: Reel-to-Reel takes a blast from Streaming to save his friends and is Killed Off for Real.
- Take That!: Repeating the same criticism in Format Wars II, online streaming is poorly compressed and won't stream anything if the Internet is down. Indeed Streaming becomes briefly disabled due to a "network error" caused by Black-and-White.
- Wham Line: "My favorite planet."
