Space Junk

Jet isn't keen on cleaning the garage, and fantasizes on what it would be like if we could just send garbage elsewhere. Unfortunately, Dr. Rafferty informs the kids that garbage in space is indeed a reality, and a detrimental one. The kids then set out to clean up the space junk with the help of Uncle Zucchini, a galactic garbageman.
- A Day in the Limelight: This episode gives Uncle Zucchini a lot of focus.
- Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Sunspot pats Sean's head after pinching him.
- An Aesop: Knowing there's a problem should make you want to help solve it.
- "Be Quiet!" Nudge: Sydney punches Jet's arm when he blabs out to Dr. Rafferty that he's from space.
- Exploding Closet: Jet tries to clean the garage by stuffing all of his boxes in the closet. Then the closet explodes, letting all the boxes out, and the garage is messy again.
- Gilligan Cut: Sean says there is no way he is flying outside the saucer. In the next scene, he says he can't believe he's flying outside the saucer.
- Hidden Depths: Zucchini is revealed to work for the East Galaxy Garbage Company, Bortron 7 Division.
- Rhetorical Request Blunder: Sean is flying outside the saucer, collecting garbage, with a guy named Zucchini. He then asks Sunspot to pinch him, which he does.
- Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Jet says "Pew!" when describing his plan to shoot garbage into space.
- Suspiciously Specific Denial: After getting a "Be Quiet!" Nudge from Sydney, Jet tries to cover up his alien identity by saying that he's never been to space and has only seen movies about it.
- Verbal Backspace: Jet does one when he says that he's been to space, and then covers it up by saying that he's seen movies about it.Jet: I've been across half the galaxy—(Sydney gives him a "Be Quiet!" Nudge) Oh, I mean, I've watched a lot of Earth movies about space. That's uh—that's what I mean. Never been there. (chuckles weakly)
Scientific Sean

Since Mindy's Abuela is coming over and she'll be away for the day, Sydney makes her some Commander Cressida fan comics to keep her occupied. The kids decide to make the comic pages into paper airplanes, utilizing the Scientific Method to figure out how to get them to where they need to be.
- A Day in the Limelight: Sean gets the most focus in this episode.
- Ahem: Sean clears his throat before singing the Scientific Method song.
- Airplane Arms: Jet makes airplane arms when running around and pretending to fly.
- Alliterative Title: Scientific Sean.
- Aside Glance: Sean looks at the viewer and winks when he sarcastically says to Jet, "I thought you'd never ask."
- Author Avatar: In her Commander Cressida comic, Sydney draws the titular character to look like her.
- The Ghost: We never see Mindy's grandma on screen.
- Gratuitous Spanish: Mindy mentions that her abuelita is coming to visit.
- Her Codename Was Mary Sue: Sydney inserts herself into the Commander Cressida comic.
- Ship Tease: When Sean compliments Sydney on her paper airplane, he looks at Jet instead.
- Wink "Ding!": When Sean winks at the viewer when he says "I thought you'd never ask", a ding sound can be heard.
- Write Who You Know: Sydney bases Ensign Praxidike on Mindy, right down to her appearance.
