The ARC team has a new base and new members, in a private-government cooperation, and the Dracorex escapes the facility's menagerie. In the cretaceous period, Abby and Connor find Helen's anomaly device and use it to get home to the present, but a Spinosaurus follows them back.
- Actor Allusion: The song that Abby puts on to distract the Spinosaurus is "Don't Stop Movin" by S Club 7, the group her actress Hannah Spearritt was in (although in some versions of the episode, it is replaced by generic club music).
- Conveniently Empty Roads: This episode has one of the series' most dubious cases. When a Spinosaurus unexpectedly bursts through an Anomaly in the middle of the city, the streets of London are suspiciously devoid of people and vehicles throughout the team's ensuing chase against the creature.
- Savage Spinosaurs: Zig-Zagged with the Spinosaurus. Whilst it's very big and dangerous, it doesn't go out of its way to antagonize others. Once it ends up in the modern world, it prefers to run instead of deliberately terrorizing anyone, although it gets vicious once it's backed into a corner (arena).
- Shout-Out: The fight between the raptor and the Spinosaurus is very similar to the battle between Rexy and the Big One, down to both raptors sharing the same death sounds.
- Teleporter Accident: This seemingly happens to the Spinosaurus when the team drops the anomaly device into its mouth, opening an anomaly from inside it.
- Time Skip: Abby and Connor have spent a year in the Cretaceous by the time we see them in this episode. Likewise, a year has passed for those in the present as well.
