To regain his mother's favor, Olympius opens the Shadow World to lure the Rangers into their demise. However, Diabolico has other plans.

- Berate and Switch: When Bansheera learns what Diabolico did to her son, Diabolico believes she is angry until he hears her laugh. She declares Olympius a failure who deserves to rot in the Shadow World.
- Big Damn Heroes: The Sorcerer helps the Rangers escape the Shadow World before the demons can finish them.
- Big "NO!": Olympius after Diabolico leaves him trapped in the Shadow World.
- The Bus Came Back: In cameo form, a bunch of Demon monsters the Rangers defeated return in the Shadow World.

The Gatekeeper: Very perceptive, Rangers! - Commuting on a Bus: Ryan returns, having a subplot wherein he meets the eponymous Sorcerer and tries to get his help in stopping the demon threat.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Diabolico and his cohorts have no qualms about leaving Olympius in the Shadow World for his past actions against them, but they're disturbed by how the guy's own mother supports such a decision, despite him being consistently loyal to her.
- Evil Laugh: Diabolico when mocking Ryan for the failed attempt to seal away the demons.
- Fate Worse than Death: Olympius is left trapped in the Shadow World, where he is constantly attacked by out of control demons.
- Hope Spot: The Sorcerer reads the spell needed to banish the demons. Skull Cavern shakes violently, but Diabolico performs a counter-spell that kills the Sorcerer before it's too late.
- Wham Line: Diabolico admits to Bansheera that he banished Olympius to the Shadow World, but he, Loki, and Vypra were shocked when Bansheera was glad since Olympius has failed her too many times.
- Wild Card: The destroyed demons once the Gatekeeper's staff is destroyed. They'll attack whoever they see, be it the Rangers or Olympius.
- You Can't Kill What's Already Dead: The Rangers' attacks and weapons might cause temporary damage, but the demons in the Shadow World just immediately revive. As the Gatekeeper says, they've already been destroyed and are in the Shadow World, so there's nothing more the Rangers can actually do to them. This does not apply to those demons that manage to escape with the Rangers back into the real world, as they get taken down by Megazords.
- You Fool!: Olympius in response to the Gatekeeper losing control over the other demons.
- You Have Failed Me: Why Bansheera is content to let Olympius rot in the Shadow World. She formally puts Diabolico back in charge of rebuilding her palace, but she promises he'll suffer an even worse fate should he fail.
