Nate sets up a Gigadrone detection network. Roxy continues to collect the Beast powers for Evox.
Episode Tropes:
- An Aesop: A two-fold one. Don't lie to your friends - even if you have good intentions... but also, just because a friend tells you an innocent lie, it doesn't mean you should stop trusting them.
- Big "NO!": Blaze's reaction when Devon destroys the Robotron-maker before he can make a Robotron.
- Call-Back: The Gigadrone Detectors are finally completed for the first time since Nate started them in Hanger Heist. Devon himself is happy about that as they would not be caught off guard like they were in Thrills and Drills.
- Lying to Protect Your Feelings: Zoey covers for Devon, claiming she was the one who broke the VR set and not Ben and Betty. However, Devon realizes something's off and is doubly pissed with Zoey when Ben and Betty come clean.
- The Reveal: It's revealed in this episode that the main trio can use their Beast powers without morphing, as seen with Zoey as she uses her jackrabbit jumping abilities to jump out of a Tronic dog pile.
- Squick: In-universe. Zoey's reaction to the Delta Gigadrone emerging from the Gamma's back.
- Tempting Fate: The drive of the episode - Devon trusts Ben and Betty to take his new VR headset and has them promise them that they won't let anything happen to it. However, Betty tries on the equipment and ends up wrecking it playing around with it.
- Threatening Shark: Played for laughs. A CGI shark in the VR program scares the hell out of Betty, and later does the same to Devon.
- The Unreveal: Blaze's plan - which he bragged about at the end of the last episode - never comes to fruition since Devon smashes the Robotron-maker in the first act, and Evox is too angry to let Blaze try again.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Devon's not happy that Zoey covered Ben and Betty for wrecking the VR headset. Even when she reveals the Gigadrone Detectors are ready, Devon asks her why he should trust her over that.
- You Have Failed Me: Played straight this time. After the Robotron-maker is smashed, Evox is pissed with Blaze and refuses to grant him a second try.Blaze: But Master Evox, I didn't break the Robotron-maker. The Rangers did!Evox: ENOUGH EXCUSES! Leave before I blast you to bits, and scatter you across this dimension!
