- Abhorrent Admirer: Nini's Smoochum has a thing for Pancham.
- Cheaters Never Prosper: Reconstructed. Jessie attempts to cheat by getting a head's up about the Appeal round. When she misreads it and it gives her no lead whatsoever, her team resort to legitimate methods to win, and come out on top anyway.
- Chekhov's Skill: Meowth's culinary abilities once again come in handy for one of Jessie's coordinator events, making an elaborate Poké Puff that gets her win the Appeal round.
- Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Jessie's team are almost unrecognisably competent throughout the entire showcase, which ends up earning them their first victory.
- Every Proper Lady Should Curtsy: Nini curtsies when she appears onstage.
- Graceful Loser: Serena, compared to her previous showcase defeat, takes it nonchalantly and assures an upset Eevee not to take it so hard.
- Imagine Spot: Jessie has one after winning the Princess Key, seeing this as a path to becoming Kalos Queen herself. She envisions herself as an actual queen, and not the reality of merely being the equivalent of a pageant champion.
- Team Rocket Wins: Jessie won her first Princess Key during the Couriway Showcase, leaving Meowth and Wobbuffet overjoyed.
- Theme Song Power Up: Deconstructed in the Japanese edit. Serena's theme "Dreamdream" plays when Eevee recovers and the team get back into the game...and continues playing after Jessie is declared the winner.
