The day has come for Ash's Nacrene Gym battle with Lenora, who explains that she used Normal-type Pokemon, specifically Watchog and Lillipup. The battle begins and although Ash has a combination planned, Lenora immediately disrupts his strategy when Lillipup uses Roar, forcing Tepig out of the battle and Oshawott in. Lenora then switches to Watchog, who traps Oshawott in the battle with Mean Look. His strategy ruined, Ash struggles to keep up with Lenora and he loses the battle. However, while initially frustrated, Ash is determined beat Lenora, but upon suggestion, decides to do some special training at the local Battle Club.
