After capturing Ash, Dawn and Brock, Cyrus and the rest of Team Galactic head to the Spear Pillar, ready to create their new world and destroy the old.
- Anticlimax Boss: Cyrus ends up as a Self-Disposing Villain after having barely put up any sort of fight against the good guys. The true threat comes from Dialga and Palkia losing control of their powers and creating a space-time distortion that threatens to swallow the Sinnoh region whole.
- Apocalypse How: Cyrus almost creates a X-4 one. After that is averted, a furious Dialga and Palkia almost caused a Class 0.
- Big Damn Heroes: Cynthia arrives to free Ash, Dawn, Brock, Team Rocket and Looker and lead the assault on Team Galactic.
- Big "NO!": Mars, when Cyrus decided to die with his ideal world, she tries to follow him into inevitable doom but is held back by Saturn.
- Broken Bird: As a consequence of the above.
- Combat Pragmatist: Cynthia defeats Jupiter's Skuntank with a surprise attack, then when the criminal tries to send another Pokemon she has Garchomp points her claws at her neck.
- Croagunk attacks Toxicroak while the latter is still exiting its Pokeball, defeating it with a single attack.
- Mythology Gag: The contraption created by the Red Chain to control Dialga and Palkia looks like the ring around Arceus' s midsection.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: For once, somebody sees throught Team Rocket's disguises. After all, while their and Looker's costumes are pretty good, they are clearly not the same goons Team Galactic left to guard the Spear Pillar.
- Pyrrhic Victory: Cyrus gets his new world alright... for all the five seconds him and it survived.
- Self-Disposing Villain: After the twerps and Cynthia stop Dialga and Palkia from creating a new universe and destroy the old, Cyrus jumps into the collapsing universe, killing himself rather than remaining in the original.
- Straw Nihilist: Jupiter admits with a crazy smile that she is just fine with being destroyed alongside the universe.
- Talking the Monster to Death: After freeing them from Cyrus's control, Ash, Dawn and Brock use their Psychic Link with the Lake trio to stop Dialga and Palkia's rage at being controlled, which was about to destroy the Sinnoh region.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Cyrus makes it clear he wants to go alone in the new universe, believing his minions would corrupt its pureness, and leave them to die.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: While Cyrus died and Mars, Saturn and Jupiter are shown getting arrested, Charon simply disappears from the episode.
