Recap / Pokemon S 12 E 46 Unlocking The Red Chain Of Events

Go To

With the mysterious Red Chain finally completed, Team Galactic is ready to start their plan for a new universe. When Looker and Team Rocket are captured, Ash, Dawn and Brock must team up with Meowth to save them.

  • Annoying Laugh: Charon. Jupiter lampshades it.
  • Batman Gambit: Knowing that Looker will search the base for clues after being freed, Charon leaves what it seems to be a piece of the Red Chain behind. When Looker brings it to a police station to be analyzed, it releases a computer virus that wipes out all information the International Police has on Team Galactic.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Team Rocket is no match for Jupiter.
  • Enemy Mine: The Twerps and Meowth team up to save Looker, Jessie and James from Team Galactic. Meowth initially refuses help out of pride, but Dawn reassures him they want to save Looker, and if they'll end up helping Team Rocket... oh well.
  • Face Palm: Looker does this when Team Rocket forgets for the second time the bars of their cell are electrified.
  • Once More, with Clarity: The episode starts with Looker under cover being discovered and Jupiter getting ready to interrogate him... and then cuts to an unexplained explosion. We later learn by Meowth it was because Team Rocket attacked her, but was easily defeated and Meowth was blasted off.
  • Villain Team-Up: At the end of the episode Cyrus hires Hunter J to capture the Lake Trio.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: Jupiter admits to finding Looker attractive. He is less than impressed.
  • We Can Rule Together: Jupiter offers Ash, Dawn and Brock the chance to join Team Galactic. They refuse, of course. Heck, Dawn sounds genuinely disgusted by the idea.
  • Wham Shot: After stating that they need to capture the Lake Trio, Cyrus activates his view screen, and Hunter J appears on it.
