Ash and co. arrive in Floraroma Town where Dawn's next Pokémon contest will be held. But first, Dawn decides to attend a poffin cooking class, poffins being Sinnoh's version of Hoenn's Poké Block, taught by a girl named Forsythia, whose Roserade is a little shy around people.
Tropes
- Lethal Chef: Ash burns his poffins pretty badly. Subverted with Dawn, since she knows how to make poffins right from the start, but the only recipe she knows tastes good to feline Pokémon like her mother's Glameow and Meowth. She figures out her own recipe by the end of the episode.
- One-Note Cook: Dawn can only cook one poffin recipe—one that's only good for feline Pokémon.
- Pun-Based Title: This title is a reference to the nursery rhyme, "The Muffin Man." Ash even says the title of the episode in tune to "Do you know the Muffin Man?"
- Scarf of Asskicking: Roserade wears one when protecting the orchard, and it is what gives it the confidence to do so.
- Shrinking Violet: Roserade, literally since it's a flower Pokémon. It overcomes its shyness by the end of the episode.
