Go To

While Phineas and Ferb get the bubble machine ready, Isabella and the Fireside Girls set out to collect a key ingredient for the bubble solution. Meanwhile, Professor Poofenplotz is out to steal hairspray and Pinky the Chihuahua must stop her.

This episodes' events runs concurrently with the plot of the previous episode; "Bubble Boys".

Tropes:

  • Brick Joke: This episode explained how the Fireside Girls knew when to lean in the previous episode, and also why Linda had to remind Candace of the trash cans.
  • A Day in the Limelight: This episode is "Bubble Boys" told from Isabella's point-of-view.
  • Daydream Surprise: When Isabella asks Phineas "What'cha doin'?", he says he doesn't know what he's doing ignoring his feels for Isabella, then turns into a centaur and flies away with her. Turns out it was all an Imagine Spot Isabella was having while Phineas was asking her to get the maracanut tree sap for the bubble machine.
Isabella: I'm sorry! I was off in "Phineasland".
  • Department of Redundancy Department: The old abandoned, old abandoned amusement park. It is actually called "The Old Abandoned Amusement Park", and now it's old and abandoned. Hence "old abandoned twice," as Isabella puts it.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Prof. Poofenplotz banishes a retail clerk to another dimension for telling her that her favorite hair spray has been discontinued.
Poofenplotz: How about I discontinue you from this dimension?!
  • Face Ship: Prof. Poofenplotz gets around in her "Me-Mobile", a Spider Tank shaped like her head.
  • Flag Drop: During the last two lines of "Fireside Girls Anthem", Isabella and the Fireside Girls stand in front of an American flag to match the patriotic feeling of the song.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The "I Just Saw a Cute Boy" patch can be seen briefly on Isabella's sash during the Fireside Girls song.
  • Glass-Shattering Sound: A variation. When Professor Poofenplotz crashes into the amusement park and finds the Stiff Beauty hairspray, the resulting scream of joy is so high pitched that it brings down one of the amusement park rides, crushing the cans and dousing her entire body in hairspray.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • Millie says she earned a second "Help Thy Neighbor" patch when "I went back that afternoon after everyone else left."
    • The other Fireside Girls remind Ginger of the one time they went to see what Baljeet was doing, and whatever happened wasn't worth the effort.
  • Precocious Crush: This episode establishes Ginger's crush on Baljeet.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Gretchen actually earns a "Saying a Word Nobody In the Room Knows" Badge for using the word "sesquipedalian".
  • Single Tear: The hippie guru sheds a tear as he reveals all the maraca nut trees have been chopped down for hairspray.
  • Smoke Out: The guru vanishes in a puff of smoke after he finishes guiding the Fireside Girls where to go. Gretchen points out that he's still there, just standing near the spot where he was.
  • Special Guest: Judd Nelson plays the hippie guru.
  • Synchronous Episodes: With "Bubble Boys". This episode shows how Isabella got the sap ingredient for the bubble solution.
  • Wingding Eyes: Phineas gets hearts in his eyes during Isabella's daydream.
