Tropes In This Issue:

  • Action Prologue: Parodied: in the beginning we see Paperinik try his hardest to arrive before a woman is kidnapped... only to discover he was actually referring to an episode of Patemi.
  • Arms Dealer: The Evronians are secretly giving high-tech weapons to the army of Providencia in exchange for their help in capturing the cast of "Patemi".
  • Banana Republic: The republic of Providencia that is actually in cahoots with the Evronians.
  • Big "NO!": Parodied, Paperilla gives one before Zoster tells them what's in store for them, which is Lampshaded. The other cast members though think she was brilliant.
  • Continuity Nod: Brad Van Beck's kidnapping, Paperilla Starry, Sam Plot's Coolflaming and Sean LeDuck are all from #0 "Evronians". Zondag and Zoster also return since their defeat in issue #1 "Shadows on Venus".
  • Deadpan Snarker: Paperilla Starry, especially towards the male lead.
  • Denser and Wackier: Oh so much.
  • Dull Surprise: Sean Leduck and his nearly-unexistant acting skills.
  • The Dreaded: Mentioned and subverted, though, as the narration says, if Evronians could have nightmares, Zoster and Zondag's will be Xadhoom, referencing their previous near-death in #1 "Shadows on Venus".
  • Dressing as the Enemy: One uses an hologram to take the form of general Zondag and fool Zoster. Also, Ramirez and his men dress up as Providencia's soldiers.
  • General Failure: Captain Guitierrez, who is so bad in giving orders that Donald comments on it. Special mention in being more concerned with Ramirez and his men than with the aliens with flying saucers and allowing the people he was supposed to protect to be kidnapped. It's all an act, actually: he is making these bad choiches on purpose because he is helping the Evronians.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: For once not Paperinik, but Paco Ramirez and his group of fighters are considered outlaws, while actually being the only ones trying to defend their land from the Evronians.
  • Mean Character, Nice Actor: Laurie Brick, from Patemi. A Shrinking Violet who continually apologizes, playing what's essentially an evil Ada Wong.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Compared to her first appearence, Paperilla Starry is much more attractive and curvy.
  • Not So Above It All: Even One can't resist the power of "Patemi".
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: In-Universe example: to justify the return of the actor that played the protagonist of the soap before Sean Leduck, Sam Plot recasts him as his long lost twin that has the exact same name. And he tosses the Evronians in it, while he's at it.
  • Red Shirt: The soldiers of the "elite guard" of the army of Providencia are totally useless against the Evronians. It's all an act. Check out under General Failure above.
  • Rescue Romance: Played for laughs, as soon as the cast is fred, Paco asks Paperilla for a date, and she says "Why not?"
  • Revenge: The reason why Zoster and Zondag are involved. as the narration says:
" On the other hand, if Evronians could dream, their dream would be of revenge!"
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Spencer Rivermud likes to talk (a lot) about his great career... which included being a one-line-guy in a famous movie and starring in such films as "Frankenstein vs pirates" and "Mutant Hamsters from Planet Fangoz".
  • Time Bomb: Zoster activates one with a vocal command.
  • Villain Ball:
    Evron soldier: You missed him?
    Zondag: No, I'm having fun!
  • Writers Suck: It says a lot that having been half-Coolflamized has actually improved Sam's writing skills...
