- Bigger Is Better: A pair of inmates pull out a toothbrush shiv at Boo wanting to make Linda their punk. Boo pulls out a kitchen knife to scare them off.
- Borrowed Biometric Bypass: Blanca points out to a Red that she needs Humps' fingerprint to unlock his phone.
- Callback: Daya is still pissed at Bennet leaving her in season 3 with the way she draws him chasing after legs.
- Cat Fight: After the coffee runs out, one of the pissed girls punches another in frustration and it all just snowballs from there.
- Cover Version: Sankey does one of her own to Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)."
- Fingore: Red cuts off one of Humps' fingertips to get to his phone.
- Lampshade Hanging: When the guards are moved into the bunks along with some of the actual inmates, one of the guards asks what they should do now. Crazy Eyes replies, "Now we settle into a witty banter that is insightful but also comically aloof." This is more or less the series' format for when new inmates are introduced to the bunks.
- The Makeover: Maritza and Flaca do makeovers for the girls. Blanca is unrecognizable to Red until she speaks up. Nicky and Alex get them as well.
- Oh, Crap!: Gloria has this when she sees the messages about her son Benny.
- Please, Don't Leave Me: Lorna screams this when Vinnie takes off.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Vinnie drives off when he sees Lorna's message she's pregnant.
- Sex Starts, Story Stops: After Boo protects Linda from a couple inmates, it cuts to Linda on a table getting oral sex from Boo.
- Shout-Out: Alison, Piper, and Taystee tried a Harry Potter quiz to determine their houses.
- Shower of Angst: Alex finds Nicky under the shower having one of these.
- This Is Reality: Leanne tells Angie the world doesn't work like pornos after Angie talks about "Johnnie Cock-hand."
- Title Drop: The title comes from a booth where one inmate braids pubic hair for, well, half a Snickers.
- The Unreveal: While Frieda's group are discussing kinky sex acts, Norma writes hers down. We don't see it, but the girls are amused.
- Your Makeup Is Running: Nicky's mascara is running after having a cry in the shower.
