Pennsatucky, Piper, Crazy Eyes and Lorna get closer with their new admirers; tensions — between Sophia and Gloria, and Alex and Lolly — escalate.

- A Day in the Limelight: This one goes to Pennsatucky, starting with her first period, as well as her first loving boyfriend.
- Analogy Backfire: Pornstache is determined that he and Daya will be together, like Romeo and Juliet, Lolita and "that old guy," and Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins. His mother points out that none of those couples ended up together.
- Call-Back: Caputo notices Luschek parking in Healey's spot and questions him about it, only for Luschek to state that Healey owed him one. Healey agreed that he would owe Luschek a future favour for lying about Suzanne being in electrical when Red was getting slocked during the season two finale.
- Conspiracy Theorist: Lolly believes the NSA has been infiltrated and that Alex is an assassin out to kill her.
- Food Porn: Red makes one hell of a killer ratatouille from vegetables grown in the prison garden.
- Internal Reveal: The audience knows by now that Piper is having an affair with Stella but Alex barely finds out about it by seeing them in the courtyard.
- Improvised Weapon: A previous episode had Lolly breaking one of the greenhouse windows, which left a huge shard. She tries to stab Alex with it.
- Love Triangle: Alex/Piper/Stella.
- Rape as Drama: Pennsatucky has gotten this twice so far that we've seen. Once from a friend back in her hometown, the next from Coates as he rapes her in the prison van.
- Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Red's reaction to seeing Piper and Stella kiss in her bunk and leaves immediately.
- Sexual Karma: Flashbacks show the one time Pennsatucky is actually experiencing good consensual sex, when her boyfriend pleasures her in bed watching porn. It is erotically tender in comparison to the two rapes Pennsatucky suffers later on.
- Shout-Out: The porno that Pennsatucky and her boyfriend are watching in the flashback is from the 90's and features retired porn star Celeste.
- The Bus Came Back: Even if it's just for one episode this season, Pornstache returns to talk to his mother, having lost his mustache while in prison.
- Title Drop: The title comes from Penn's mom saying that she'll be going through puberty, calling it "a tittin' and a hairing'."
