Da Vinci's art becomes popular with the humans, but she soon starts feeling creatively stifled.
This episode features examples of:
- Art Shift: When Da Vinci has her panic attack and the audience sees her perspective of the world, other animals and humans become smoke creatures, and the scenery resembles a Salvador Dali painting.
- Break the Cutie: Da Vinci has an anxiety attack triggered, combined with terrifying hallucinations.
- A Day in the Limelight: Da Vinci has a major role in this episode.
- Evil Laugh: Cuddles does a meowing version of this while spying on Dylan and Dolly.
- Gilligan Cut: After Dawkins tempts fate by asking how hard it could be to keep the t-shirt production up without Da Vinci, we cut to the house a mess, the puppies playing around, and Dawkins looking shell shocked.
- I Was Named "My Name": A variation. The humans admiring Da Vinci's art coincidentally call her a "doggy Da Vinci," after other suggestions such as "Labrador Dali." When Dylan and Dolly overhear it, Dylan wonders how they know her name.
- Shout-Out: There are numerous homages to various artists throughout the episode:
- When Da Vinci is painting the shirts, it cuts to a checkerboard pattern from above, with each square being a different colour, similar to the pop art style mostly associated with Andy Warhol.
- When Da Vinci is being chased, the scene begins to resemble a Salvador Dali painting, as well as M. C. Escher's Relativity Staircase painting.
- When Dolly and Dylan rescue Da Vinci from the canal, the pose resembles "The Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo Buonarroti.
- Strange Minds Think Alike: When the puppies accidentally break a hole in a wall, Dolly tells him to just think of it as a surprise window. When Snowball walks by soon afterwards, that's exactly what she thinks the hole is.
- Tempting Fate: Dawkins declares they'll have to keep the production line going without Da Vinci, then asks how hard it could be. Cue the Gilligan Cut.
- Title Drop: When the human find out Da Vinci's responsible for the art and chase after her, they start calling her a "doggy Da Vinci."
- Wham Episode: The episode ends with Hunter finding out where the Dalmatians live.
