The chapter begins with Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong slumbering peacefully. They're awakened by the sound of an engine, and by the time they're able to check to see if their banana stash is safe, both the bananas and the perpetrator are gone. The two charge off to deal with the perp.
Olimar and Falcon land on DK Island in the Falcon Flyer and are immediately accosted by DK and Diddy. DK punches Olimar and Falcon across the island, where they wake up at the base of a snowy mountain. Falcon attempts to summon the Falcon Flyer, fails, and runs back to the beach to check on it. Olimar begins ascending the mountain before finding a cabin. He takes shelter inside and begins listening to Cranky's ranting. Falcon returns, revealing that the Flyer had been wrecked; Cranky sympathizes with Falcon's plight and decides to join to give DK an earful. The group finds Funky nearby, who gives them a ride over to the Factory.
The group discovers the wreckage of the stolen prize vehicle, with banana peels scattered about, revealing the culprit to be Louie. The group ignores that for now and focuses on the battle taking place in the factory, between K. Rool and DK, Diddy, and Dixie. This results in Louie absconding with the Gangplank Galleon. K. Rool and Cranky decide to join up with the party, K. Rool to get his ship and revenge, and Cranky to show DK how a real adventurer does it.
