Go To

Airdate: April 16, 2014

The ninja go to an old enemy, the Serpentine, to find out more about the mysterious stranger and his electric snakes that can power Nindroids. Here, they discover the prophecy of the Golden Master and his reign of destruction. Elsewhere, Lloyd and Garmadon attempt to avoid detection.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Downer Ending: Lloyd is captured, Garmadon is left to drown at sea, and the Overlord has everything he needs to start his transformation into the Golden Master.
  • Heel–Race Turn: The Serpentine managed to free themselves from the Stone Army tomb, but have since decided not to attack Ninjago and instead live in peace, creating a new society for themselves. Skales has even had a child.
  • Not Quite Dead: Pythor survived the Devourer but it's clear he didn't get out unscathed like Wu since he mentioned his time in the Great Devourer's belly was a Fate Worse than Death as he was partially digested before he escaped. This is especially apparent since most of his scales have been bleached white and his larynx was almost damaged beyond repair as he sounds more raspy.
  • The Reveal: The Stranger who resurrected the Nindroid army is revealed to be a Not Quite Dead Pythor.
  • Wham Shot: The Stranger removes their hood, revealing Pythor underneath.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: The Serpentine were chased underground and imprisoned because they were trying to warn the people of Ninjago of the Golden Master. Their attempts at revenge were well-founded.
