After the latest betrayal, Lloyd has been taken on board the Destiny's Bounty and is playing pranks on the ninja (most notably turning Zane's suit pink) while the three tribes of Serpentine plan to unite with the last two tribes to awaken the Great Devourer.
This episode provides examples of:
- Chekhov's Gun: Lloyd's prank of turning Zane's ninja suit pink was instrumental in helping Zane avoid capture and saving the others. Even Zane himself happily gives credit to Lloyd for this.
- Foreshadowing: The Constrictai tribe's ability is to cause its victim Supernatural Suffocation, but Zane survives it without even needing an antidote. Zane, being a robot, has no need to breathe.
- Joke of the Butt: When Cole and Zane arrive to rescue Kai and Jay from the Venomari, Cole says "Anyone order a little kick-butt?!" and the word "butt" echoes from the Venomari tomb, which makes Jay laugh.
- Mushroom Samba: Venomari's venom makes the victim wildly hallucinate. Poor Kai gets the brunt of the effects.
- Oh, Crap!: Cole and Zane have one when they realize the Constrictai tomb is nearly empty—because it means Pythor was already there and has freed them.
- Red Sock Ruins the Laundry: Zane's white ninja suit gets dyed pink after it goes in the washing machine with Kai's red ninja suit. Zane isn't pleased, though his annoyance is more tied to the color ruining his effectiveness in battle than a dislike of pink. However, he finds this to be quite useful as it helped him from being spotted by the Serpentine.Zane: How am I supposed to strike fear in this? It's pink!
- Supernatural Suffocation: The Constrictai tribe's special ability is to induce this in a victim by squeezing them tight, resulting in breathing issues long after the initial binding has ended.
