Owen Elliot, a Division agent, interferes in a bank robbery and ends up on the run. This shakes Percy to the core, leading to him going to Montreal immediately. Nikita, having learned of this from Alex, follows him to find out what has him so rattled.
As it turns out, Owen is the guardian of a black box full of Division's black ops secrets, which serve as Percys insurance against the government. Realizing that the security of said black box is compromised, Percy decides to have Owen killed and take back the black box.
Through Owen's girlfriend Emily Nikita finds Owen and attempts to explain to him that Division is evil. However, Division agents kill Emily, and Owen is captured while trying to avenge her. Nikita saves Owen and talks him out of killing Percy, as that would lead to the release of all the secrets on the black box, which would seriously endanger everyone, and the two of them escape, even though Owen is shot.
Meanwhile, Alex breaks into Percys office to find more information for Nikita. She is caught by Thom, but manages to come up with a good cover story.
