The Doctor, Traveling alone arrives in Britain in the far future, where it has become a barren wasteland, a group of scientists including siblings Karl and Katy are desperately working trying to grow crops when suddenly Karl goes missing and Katy is taken by a troll which apparently lives under a nearby bridge, leaving it to the Doctor with the help of the scientists to get Katy back and find out what the troll really is.
