- The Bus Came Back: After six years away, Hollis Mann returns as a DOD investigator, much to the team's surprise.
- Cliffhanger: A drone succeeds in striking the Conrad gala, which injures McGee's girlfriend Delilah. Parsa escapes and the episode ends with the team frantically searching for information to find Parsa.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: The Commanding Officer made it clear that there was no fraternization among the drone control unit. Cue a member of the unit who had walked up only to hear that the victim was the fellow officer who was going to propose to her once their tour was over.
- Jurisdiction Friction: Between NCIS and the DoD, which comes to an abrupt and funny end when Hollis settles the issue by calling the Secretary of Defense. Whom she has on speed dial!
