"Marble Pie is off to college! It seems like the only pony fit for the job of planning her going away party would be the fabulous Pinkie Pie herself-but Pinkie's having a bit of trouble feeling happy about her sister heading so far away... looks like she's going to need a little help from Cheese Sandwich to plan the bestest party ever!"
This issue contains examples of:
- An Aesop: The ones you love may have to leave, but they'll always be in your heart.
- Beat: After Cheese suggests having a "cheese station" instead of a dessert station, the next panel shows Pinkie staring at him, unimpressed. She then declares that maybe she should help with the party after all.
- Beyond the Impossible: Pinkie rolls up her sleeves - despite not having sleeves to roll up (which Cheese points out).
- Bittersweet Ending: Pinkie ultimately throws Marble a party though is still sadden she won't see her for two whole years (not even on holidays or summers due the academy's guideline. Marble cites it's so she can get through her education faster). But the two come to an understanding that they'll miss and never forget one another. Pinkie likewise understanding that Marble is trying to forge her own path just as she did. On the upside, Cheese manages to cheer Pinkie up and the two's relationship is blossoming further.
- Breather Episode: Is a break from the Season 10 Story Arc right before the comics story and action heavy Series Finale.
- The Cameo: Mudbriar, Limestone and DJ PON-3 all make brief appearances at Marble's party.
- Everyone Can See It: Both Mayor Mare and Postmaster Buckeye of the Ponyville post office make subtle acknowledgements of how often Cheese Sandwich visits Ponyville just to see Pinkie, or sends her packages in the mail.
- Held Gaze: Pinkie and Cheese indulge in this after Pinkie thanks Cheese for helping organize Marble's leaving party (holding hooves at the same time), before turning away, blushing.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Both Marble and Pinkie's friends acknowledge how odd it is that Pinkie turned down the opportunity to plan Marble's leaving party.
- Prehensile Hair: Pinkie carries the letter meant for Marble in the forelock of her mane.
- Series Continuity Error: Fluttershy is able to find out where Pinkie is by talking to Gummy. This contradicts the events of "Yakity-Sax", where Fluttershy wasn't able to do the same thing because Gummy doesn't "talk" (as in makes sounds that can be interpreted) at all.
- Shout-Out: The B-Cover for the issue
