  • Accidental Misnaming: Detective Slorach has problems remembering Crabtree's name.
  • After Action Patchup: Murdoch, suffering from Identity Amnesia, gets shot in his arm. Anna Fulford helps him to find a sanctuary in her church, and she then treats his wound. They end up kissing, but the kiss brings out memories of certain Julia, so Anna is only his might-have-been love.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Murdoch gets captured and interrogated... He gets beaten-up, though Anna saves him.

  • Distressed Dude: Anna saves Murdoch's life several times.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Anna Fulford, a sweet young woman with long curly blond hair. She owns an inn in England and instinctively trusts that Murdoch is a good man, even though he's pursued by police and doesn't remember who he is. She treats his wound, cooks him some meal, helps him to escape and finds him a shelter.
  • I Call Her "Vera": Slorach calls his gun Betsy.
  • Identity Amnesia: Murdoch wakes up in England with no recollections of who he is.
  • Impossibly Cool Weapon: The weapon that the bad guys have. It has huge range and is very precise.
  • Temporary Love Interest: Anna and William could be such a sweet couple. Once he regains his memory, however, his devotion to Julia puts an end to anything between him and Anna.
  • Quest for Identity: The episode finds Murdoch in England with no memory of who he is or how he got there. He spends the episode recovering his memory while on the run from police or criminals out to kill him.
