In the future, Detroit as we know it is no more. CEO Abraham Kane took over the city and built Detroit Deluxe on top of the old Detroit, giving his residents a clean, well-kept city at a price. Having banned personal freedoms, including automobile transportation, Kane now faces one last obstacle: a group of hot-rod wielding rebels who call themselves The Burners. Led by Mike Chilton, The Burners rise to stop Kane from conquering Detroit’s last oasis of freedom—an underground refuge dubbed Motorcity. Mike is joined by Julie Kane, the Burners' inside woman, Dutch, a skilled repairman, Chuck, a technical expert, Texas, the muscle of the group, and Jacob, one of Kane's former partners who now dispenses advice.
Kane tries to cripple Motorcity with robots, but when his attack on the Eastside gate fails, he lures the Burners into a trap by playing on Mike's ego. Will Mike be rescued in time, or is the battle for Motorcity over before it could begin?
