The real beast isn't who you think.
It's officially Spring Break at Monster High, and Lagoona takes her gilfriends across the sea to the Great Scarier Reef, but they are ship-wrecked and end up on a mysterious skull shaped island. Here they enjoy the local hospitality until they realize that they are being used by a slippery showman named Farnum to lure the rarest, most mysterious monster of them all, "the Beast" into a trap. Frankie is taken by the Beast but tables turn and she ends up rescuing him and returning with him to Monster High. The story goes to high voltage when they realize that Frankie has inadvertently led Farnum to the location of the greatest gathering of monsters anywhere...Monster High.

Tropes:

  • Beach Episode: Tropical island episode.
  • Boats into Buildings: Andy Beast was travelling by boat when a storm stranded it at Skull Shores. It's unknown what happened to the passengers other than Andy — they may have survived and left Andy to fend for himself or they may have perished. Andy, in any case, used his kaiju-esque alternate form to refashion the back half of the boat into a treehouse, which remained his home until he moved to Monster High.
  • Doppelgänger Gets Same Sentiment: Andy is calmed by Frankie because she looks identical to a kind woman he met before.
  • Fish out of Water: Having spent his life on the run between communities and most of it living alone on a remote island, Andy has some difficulty adjusting to Monster High. He doesn't even know what cell phones are.
  • Hulking Out: The Beast turns out to be a monster named Andy with the entirely unique ability to turn into a giant beast when distressed.
  • Identical Stranger: A human woman physically identical to Frankie, down to having the same heterochromic eyes, visited Andy in the past.
  • Jabba Table Manners: Andy eats ravenously, shoveling food into his mouth without even bothering with utensils.
  • King Kong Copy: Andy goes through the same ordeal of being on an island, feared by a tribe of natives, hunted by a greedy exhibitor and scaling a building with a beautiful damsel in hand.
  • Mutants: Andy isn't directly based on any single monster and was just born inexplicably with the ability to turn into a giant, raging beast.
  • Parental Abandonment: Andy's parents are mentioned as trying to send him away before the ship he was on got sunk, but no mention is made of them following up on him getting where they intended.
