This volume contains the following tropes:

  • All Your Powers Combined: After taking Nia's Sephira Crystal from Westcott, Kurumi finally seals the deal with Shido, giving him all 10 Angels. He ultimately defeats Westcott by channeling all their powers into his fist for a shockwave-inducing punch to the latter’s face.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: With Westcott dying, Ellen begged Elliot to save him, even going so far as to switch her loyalties to him if he does.
Ellen: Please! Elliot! Ike! Help Ike. Can't you do that? I will do anything! I'll listen to whatever you say! Please!
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Shido gives one to Mio: Even if he seals all the Spirits and gets his memories of his current life wiped, would the result really be Shinji? Deep down, Mio knows that the real Shinji is dead and gone, no matter what she does.
  • Asshole Victim: Given the atrocities he committed in the name of a "perfect wizarding world" and his bad reputation in DEM, no one mourns Isaac Westcott's death, except his childhood friends.
  • Broken Masquerade: Westcott sends several Bandersnatch to the Spirits’ friends as hostages to make Ratatoskr hand over Shido, responding to their refusal by attacking anyway in the hope that some of the Spirits might Inverse from the sight (and just For the Evulz). Mukuro warps the Spirits to successfully protect their friends, but doing so meant exposing their powers to the public.
  • Died Happily Ever After: Westcott dies in complete euphoria over the faces of mourning of his childhood friends. Likewise, Mio also sees a vision of Shin welcome her to the afterlife.
  • Dying Alone: Averted. After being reduced into just a head and torso from the explosive clash with Mio, Westcott ends up dying with Ellen, Karen, and Elliot by his side.
  • Final Battle: Shido, Mana, and the Spirits vs Westcott and his Co-Dragons Ellen and Artemisia.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Shido convinces Mio that nothing she does will ever truly bring Shinji back, and promises to make her fall for him instead. When she realizes that Westcott has siphoned her powers to become the Second Spirit of Origin, she decides to team up with Shido and the Spirits to save the world.
  • Mutual Kill: Mio uses Ain to counter Westcott's Demon King counterpart Qemetiel, ultimately killing each other.
  • Mythology Gag: Shido ends up communicating with MARIA through his smart phone, just like in the end of Ars Install.
  • Reality Warper: The power of Westcott's Demon King, Belial.
  • Superpower Lottery: By becoming the Second Spirit of Origin, Westcott has become the lottery itself. Therefore, he has three Demon Kings with each being a Game-Breaker in its own right.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Kurumi’s not happy about having to fight alongside Mio, but decides that Westcott is too much of a threat to dwell on the past.
  • Wham Line: "Sorry, but I'll be taking this" says Tohka as she snatches Mio's Sephira Crystal and absorbs it at the end of the volume.
