Martin, Diana, and Java go on a trip to visit a relative on a farm. They all have a good time until a cursed scarecrow goes and rampages all over the farm.

General Tropes:

  • All Animals Are Dogs: Rex the pig acts far more like a dog ever since aunt Tamson rescued him from a restaurant.
  • Busman's Holiday: Martin, Java and Diana were only visiting their aunt, only to encounter a cursed scarecrow on the property.
  • Cool Aunt: Martin's aunt Tamson, who is pretty nice and welcoming to both Diana and Java.
  • Cutting the Knot: Despite destroying the charm that brought the titular scarecrow to life, our heroes are shocked to see it has no effect on the scarecrow, who is gaining more power by the minute. Ultimately, when he remembers the scarecrow's purpose is to guard the farm in one form or another, Martin discovers how to undo the nightmare: destroy Aunt Tamson's deed to the farm, thus returning it to its rightful owners and rendering the scarecrow's services concluded.
  • Exact Words: When aunt Tamson reads Java's hand, she tells him he'll live a long life. Java happily answers he already did.
  • Know When to Fold Them: After everything is solved, Aunt Tamson decides to simply cut her losses, re-sell the farm to its ancestral owners proper and buy a boat-house.
  • Lost in the Maize: The Center Agents visit an aunt of Martin in her recently bought farm, which unsurprisingly hosts a cursed scarecrow.
  • Rapid Aging: Those scared by the mystic scarecrow suffer from this.
  • Scary Scarecrows: As expected from the title, the scarecrow that guards the property literally scares the life out of its victims.
