- Cliffhanger: The episode ends with the Gundam pilots scattering in the wind. Trowa is driving off with Heavyarms still holding Heero's body.
- Contrived Coincidence: Lady Une's assigned numbers for the five Gundams match the pilots' Numerical Theme Naming rather than the machines.
- Driven to Suicide: Heero interprets Doctor J's conditional surrender—that he was not handing over the Gundams to OZ—as an order to self-destruct the Gundams. He blows up Wing Gundam while still on-board. Although critically injured, he once more fails to kill himself.Heero: Mission accepted.
- I'm Having Soul Pains: Heero's apparent suicide results in Quatre having a Heroic BSoD, clutching at his chest and saying "My body...my soul hurts." Trowa is able to snap him out of it.
